A New Classroom Opens at Our Kampala Orphanage

October 10, 2026Kampala, Uganda

For years, the children at our Kampala orphanage shared a single room for eating, sleeping, and studying. Books were stacked in corners. Homework was done by candlelight on the floor.

This October, that changed. A new classroom — funded entirely by your gifts — opened its doors to 34 children. The walls are painted a warm yellow. Each child has their own desk. And at the front of the room stands Teacher Grace, who has already learned every name.

"When I walked in on the first day," said Grace, "the children were so quiet. Then one little boy in the front row looked up at me and said, 'Is this really ours?' I told him yes. It is really yours."

Education is one of the most powerful tools we can place in a child's hands. Because of you, 34 children in Kampala now have a room that says: you matter, your future matters, and someone far away believes in you.

"Is this really ours?" — a child in the front row, on the first day of school.

Stories like this start with you.

Your gift — any amount — goes directly to the children and families we serve in Uganda.
